I am not one to write online reviews but, in this case, I definitely feel compelled to make a sincere exception. After Hurricane Florence here on the NC Coast, my former (rental) home had to be gutted and the prospects of finding a new home (or even storage for my belongings, because of the unique circumstances of the hurricane devastation) were dismal, according to other agents. Nevertheless (this is a true story !), one call to Margaret Hitchcock allowed me (through her efforts) to purchase a new home within a matter of hours of its listing and her follow up services were amazing (she handled everything incredibly efficiently and with minimal cost for me). Within 30 days I was relocated in my new home (delighted with it) and ... well, what else can I say ... truly amazing. I really can't say any more than that. Highly recommended is putting it lightly!

We met Margaret in 2019 when my daughter relocated to the area from Tennessee. The inventory was nearly non-existent as the local market was in the early stages of recovery from Hurricane Florence in September 2018. Her knowledge, skill, diligence, and resourcefulness helped us find and secure a suitable home for my daughter to settle into.

With being totally new to the area, and our trust in Margaret, she made the transaction less stressful and the transition to a new area and job a bit more comforting and manageable. We wanted to let everyone know that we had an incredible experience with our Realtor Margaret Hitchcock with Hitchcock Realty. She personally sold our home (no other agent was involved) and it could not have gone smoother.

 When we were selling our home at the beach, we went through two other agents who work out of Emerald Isle offices and both were arrogant, entitled and basically lazy.  After struggling with these agents who did almost nothing to market our home, we found Margaret - she is out of Morehead City but does a lot of work on the island and all over the county. Very aggressive (but pleasant) and she works 8 days a week we think.

Margaret is like "super woman" - she always answers her phone or calls you back in minutes (we waited sometimes days to hear back from the other two!) She works hard to sell her own listings.

She sold ours in just a few days to a client she was showing homes to in a lesser price range - they resisted because they did not want to go higher in price and she still managed to get them to "at least take a look". They fell in love with our home and bought it! Negotiations, while difficult because they were above their self-imposed budget, went smoothly and we never detected a hint of pressure from Margaret - she was always very respectful and honest with us. We could not recommend any other agent there after such a tremendous experience with her - trust me, you will not be disappointed when the time comes to list - she may live in Morehead but she works in Emerald Isle and all over the county - all the time!

She does a wonderful and very professional level video (she actually hires a person who used for work for the film studio in Wilmington). If she lists your home it will sell, if not if won't be from a lack of effort on her part.

My wife and I have been Realtors for over 32 years in state of Virginia and Margaret is one of those rare exceptions - she actually WORKS! Trust me when I say NO ONE will work harder. If you hire Margaret to sell or buy your home - I know you will not be disappointed.

So elated we found Margaret Hitchcock to help sell our home and find our new one. Margaret is so unlike other Realtors, her work ethic is impeccable. The photos and write up descriptions of our home was spectacular. She is very personable and hard working. She truly covers all the bases. Margaret was an amazing real estate agent. She was very helpful during every step of the sale. This was a breath of fresh air after our experience trying to sell our house with a different realtor who seemed to just sit back and wait for the house to sell itself. She took excellent photos and even made a beautiful video of the house to increase interest online. There was absolutely no issue that Margaret was not ready to help with.

On the day that the FOR SALE sign was erected on the property you had five (5) showings. An offer was accepted on the third day that the property was advertised through you. The closing was a brief twelve (12) days after we accepted the offer.
